J. Rodney Reveal was born and raised in Noblesville, Indiana, granted a full painting and sculpture scholarship to the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California, and returned to Indianapolis John Herron School of Art to continue his art studies. He was encouraged by Gordon Morrison, his high school art teacher, and inspired by Floyd Hopper with whom he studied for several years. Rodney was a builder/designer of residential homes for 25 years and a full time Noblesville Firefighter for 30 years.
Upon retirement, Rodney has dedicated more time to his watercolor and oil paintings of landscapes, structural details and nature. His work is represented in public and private collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Brazil.
Presently Rodney and his wife live on a woodland farm outside of Arcadia, Indiana, surrounded by his subject matter.
